DragonCon, Booth #1621

If ever there was a time when I was not either preparing for, leaving for, setting up at, or exhibiting at a Convention, I find myself unable to recall. I can only assume such a time is purely fictional, something we tell our children to put them to sleep.

Regardless of my grasp on reality (or lack thereof), we are once again on the move, this time to sunny downtown Atlanta, Georgia, to attend DragonCon (August 29 – Sept. 1).

We will be there at Booth #1621, in Imperial Ballroom B.

Lar, Nick, Ryan and myself will be there, with plenty of books and other merchandise to sell, along with Lar taking commissions. Do come by and say hello...with Red Bull.

I'll be taking pictures throughout, and doing all that I can to ingratiate myself with the cast of Battlestar Galactica, in the hope that they will someday look at me, and say "friend".

We'll see you in Atlanta.

Though I'm not exactly sure where I am at the moment, or how I got here, I'm fairly certain it's only a matter of time (3 days) before I get on another plane, for another convention.

Our destination? Atlanta, Georgia (not to be mistaken for the Georgia the Russians recently thought it'd be fun to kick the shite out of).

While I will be sharing more information about DragonCon before I head off on Thursday, I have a couple of LICD Store announcements to make, lest Randy kick me mightily in the shins.

I've been dying to do one of these for quite some time now, so I am quite pleased to show off what is possibly the cutest onesie ever created for babies, since the first existence of children:

This ridiculously cute onesie is available in 4 sizes, (3-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months and 18-24 months) and is now shipping. I'd recommend ordering these sooner as opposed to later, because if Con season (follow this link to see it in action) is any indication, these will sell out quickly.

Should you happen to not know any babies, we still have some store news for you. After being out of print for some time, I Have My Moments, and My Will Be Done, the first two LICD collections are now back out in their third printing, available now.

And with that, I am going to find a hole somewhere to crawl into and die.

I'm getting the distinct impression that all I've been posting about this month is our whereabouts at one convention or another...

Following that trend, Lar, Randy, Nick, Becker and myself will be at Booth #448 the entire duration of Fan eXpo, this weekend. As per usual, we will have plenty of merchandise (including Books, shirts, frog king plushies, etc) and will be more than happy to sign whatever you'd like.

And while the most I can do for you is talk your ear off (I'm really rather chatty), Lar is taking commissions at the show, and you just can't beat a unique piece of Lart (See what I did there?).

For those of you coming down (Red Bull in hand), we're looking forward to seeing you in at Fan eXpo (with Red Bull).

For those of you not able to make it, I suggest checking out my Flickr reel throughout the weekend, also seen in the "What I See" box on the main page.

And with that, we'll see you in Toronto.

Wanted: Attractive Women in Toronto

My head is killing me, my body feels like it was beaten by a 600-pound Pikachu and I'm not exactly sure I know where or who I am. That said, Gen CON was absolutely fantastic, and a magical time was had by all.

While I wish I could take a few moments and recall many of exciting moments that were experienced in Indianapolis, circumstances dictate that I look forward, to the future. That future, of course, being that I'm leaving early Thursday morning for Toronto for Fan Expo, one of our favorite shows of the year.

I will be posting before I take, but I did want to put out a call that we're looking for Attractive females in the Toronto area who would be willing to work for Bind Ferret for a few hours a day at the convention, as booth babes, if you'll allow me the use of the term.

You will be rewarded with all the BFE swag you can carry, and a few other benefits we can throw your way.

If you're interested, please send me off an e-mail (with a picture) ASAP to sohmer@leasticoulddo.com.

Quote of the Day

"There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea is asleep and the rivers dream; people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea is getting cold. Come on, Ace, we've got work to do."

I look around the office this morning, and I find myself seeing the hustle n' bustle that usually accompanies our departure for a con.

Randy's yelling at our tracking company in an attempt to find out exactly where our booth is, Nick is responding to his e-mails as fast as they come in an attempt to not have to do any work while away, Mark is running around the office installing software on our laptops that probably won't work, Lar is inking like a madman, and the animators are animating at a quicker pace, as if trying to say "we're going to work this hard while you're not here".

And me?

I'm spending my last few hours in Montreal trying to figure out a way to triple-fist Red Bulls.

We all do what we're best at, I suppose.

In any event, Lar, Randy, Nick and myself are leaving bright and early tomorrow for GenCON in Indianapolis, Indiana. We'll be at Booth #1601 for the duration of the show (Thursday through Sunday) and will have plenty of books, shirts and other fun stuff on hand.

If you're attending, or are on the fence about do so, please come by and say hello. We're also ecstatic to meet readers face to face, and I've still got that hulk story in my back pocket if you'd like to hear an amusing tale.

Following GenCON, we'll next be at Fan eXpo in Toronto, then DragonCON in Atlanta.

That's right, 3 conventions in 3 weeks. Should be an interesting August.

We'll see you in Indianapolis, folks.
